The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to pay heed to save the life of Binu Yadav, who has been staging fast-unto-death, for some days.
Issuing a press release, NHRC Spokesperson Dr Tikaram Bhattarai urged all sides concerned to heed the health condition of agitating Yadav and proceed with legal measures to address the demands she has put forth.
Yadav, a resident of Siraha Municipality-2, has complained that she was raped by various persons and even denied justice from government bodies while complaining about it. Moreover, she was forced to withdraw the complaint she lodged, NHRC said, adding that Yadav has been staging fast-unto-death at Maitighar Mandal, Kathmandu for two weeks. Her condition is deteriorating, Spokesperson Bhattarai added.
Meanwhile, an NHRC team took stock of the situation of Yadav reaching the hunger site. She had health related problems, which have been further exacerbated with the hunger strike. It was found during the morning, according to NHRC.
