As rescue operation for the Nepalis stranded in Afghanistan continues, nine Nepalis have reached home on Wednesday. Coordination with the concerned authorities is underway to repatriate the rescued Nepalis waiting for flights in Kabul, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
So far, a total of 847 Nepali people stranded in Afghanistan have been rescued and brought home, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Ministry.
The rescued Nepalis staying at the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre in Kathmandu for infection safety and have been rehabilitated by following the health protocols, it has been said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has urged those Nepalis stranded in Afghanistan to register themselves at online portal at the website of the Service Department, the Ministry and the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi for rescue and repatriation process.
