A person died and two others were injured when a motorcycle and a scooter collided head-on in Simachowk of Kalika Municipality in Chitwan district this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Bal Bahadur Tamang, 50, of Kalika Municipality-9 in the district, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan. Tamang breathed his last during treatment at the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur.
He was the pillion rider in the motorcycle, police said.
Similarly, those injured in the incident are Pradeep Kumar Shrestha, 40, from Chitwan and sixty-nine-year-old Suk Bahadur Tamang. Shrestha is a motorcyclist while Tamang is a pillion rider in the scooter. Both injured ones were the locals of Chitwan district, added police.
Scooter rider Bijman Tamang, 36, has fled the scene following the incident. He is the son of injured Suk Bahadur.
The incident occurred when the motorcycle coming to Padampur from Bharatpur collided with scooter heading towards Padampur community forest from Gadhuwachowk.
