One person has died and three were seriously injured during a firing by security personnel in Bajura. According to Karna Bahadur Thapa, Mayor of Triveni Municipality of Bajura, local Sanjeev Aaidi died on the spot due to a clash between the police and local residents at the polling station at Nateshwari Basic School.
According to him, locals Parashu Ram Padhyay, Khadak AD and Prem Thapa were seriously injured as well due to the firing. The police also fired aerial fire at the Badimalika-9 Kalika Mavi polling station in Martadi, Bajura headquarters. There was a clash between Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) workers at that place.
Similarly, due to disputes in some municipalities including Budhinanda Municipality, Budhiganga Municipality of Bajura, voting has also been postponed.
Assistant Chief District Officer of Bajura, Lokendra Bista said that information is being sought regarding the postponement of voting in Bajura and the incident in Triveni Municipality.
