As many as 39,974 persons have been administered the AstraZeneca vaccine in 24 hours in the country while 15,521 persons have received the booster dose of the vaccine. Likewise, 6,754 persons have been administered the first dose of Vero Cell, the anti-COVID-19 vaccines manufactured in China, in the past 24 hours. Similarly, 26,225 persons have received the booster dose of Vero Cell.
Likewise, 3,695 persons have received single-shot Janssen vaccine in the past 24 hours.
As many as 2,328,757 people have been administered the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccines and 1,362,199 have been vaccinated with the booster dose as of September 9, 2021. Likewise, 3,401,032 people have been vaccinated with the first dose of the Vero Cell vaccine while 2,357,873 others have received the second dose as of September 9, 2021, the Ministry's data showed. Similarly, a total of 1,382,172 persons — 194,293 in Province 1; 276,570 in Province 2; 347,414 in Bagmati Province; 103,785 in Gandaki Province; 253,680 in Lumbini Province, 70,666 in Karnali Province and 135,764 in Sudurpaschim Province — have been vaccinated with single-shot Janssen vaccines.
A total of 5,729,789 people have been administered the first dose of vaccine against COVID-19 while 5,102,244 people have been fully vaccinated, as of Thursday, September 9, 2021.
The then Prime Minister, KP Sharma Oli launched the vaccination drive against COVID-19, on January 27.
Nepal has received a total of 3.4 million doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccines delivered under the COVAX sharing scheme for poorer countries. Of late, the country which has a population of around 2.9 million received 1.6 million doses of the vaccine under the scheme, on August 23.
