District Hospital Taplejung has started commercial production of oxygen.
Saroj Chaudhary, a plant operator and head of the district hospital (biometric technician) said that commercial production started from the oxygen plant connected to the district hospital. At present, the plant is producing up to 20 cylinders of three to 15 liters daily, said Chaudhary.
According to the district hospital, the district hospital has started supplying enough oxygen to various hospitals and health posts in eight villages. The price of five to 15-liter cylinders has been fixed at Rs 500, 15 to 35 liters at Rs 1,000, and 35 to 65 liters at Rs 1,500, said Chaudhary.
The federal government had allocated Rs. 7.15 million for the connection of oxygen plant in the district hospital. According to the district hospital, the hospital has 118 oxygen cylinders ready to be used.
