The Government of Pakistan has provided essential medical appliances to Nepal for COVID-19 response.
Chargé d'affaires of Pakistan to Nepal, Adnan Javed Khan, called on Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Roshan Pokharel, at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar to hand over the in-kind support on Thursday.
During the meeting, Chargé d'affaires Khan provided ‘Made in Pakistan' medical equipment consisting of 30 ventilators and 30 Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) breathing equipment worth over Rs 19 million.
The medical goods were a part of Pakistan’s COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Programme pledged for the SAARC-Member States.
Earlier in July, the Pakistani Embassy in Nepal had handed over a cheque carrying more than Rs 43 million Nepali Rupees to the government of Nepal as a part of the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Programme, stated in a press release issued by the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu.
Secretary Dr Pokharel expressed his gratitude to the government as well as the people of Pakistan for contributing generously to the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic and treatment of the COVID-19 infected ones in Nepal.
Khan, in reciprocation, reiterated Pakistan’s continued support to Nepal in its efforts to COVID-19 response.
