The Palpa-Butwal road section under Siddharth Highway will be closed for eight hours daily. The highway is going to be closed to construct a diversion near the Ramapithecus Park for the construction of a tunnel in the Siddhababa area.
Chief District Officer Jagannath Pant says that they are going to work by managing alternative roads from 11 am to 2 pm and closing the highway from 10 pm to 3 am. The road will be closed for eight hours daily from February 13th to 15th day and night. It is said that the work will be done during that period.
After the closure of the road, it has been decided to allow the very necessary vehicles, small, light vehicles to work as an alternative route after the upgrading of the road from Doban to Nuwakot to Belbas.
China State Construction Engineering Corporation is starting work in the Siddhababa area after getting the contract for the tunnel for Rs 7 billion 34 crore 21 lakh. In the Siddhababa area of the Palpa Butwal road section, landslides with rocks fall from above, causing great damage from time to time. Palpa, Butwal, Pokhara, Gulmi, Syangja and other districts are considered as important highways. Many people are losing their lives due to landslides on this road.
