Parbat district has recorded more incidents of forest fires this year than in the previous year.
Over the past few months, incidents of forest fires have been rapidly increasing in Nepal.
Chief of Division Forest Office, Parbat, Meghraj Poudel, informed that more than 700 hectares of forest were damaged by fire in this season.
According to Division Forest Office, some 50 community forests in Parbat recorded incidents of fire. Delayed rainfall and people's carelessness were the main reasons for the forest fires in the dry season, Poudel added.
In recent days, the office has also expedited campaigns to make the community more aware of forest fires and different networks have been developed in partnership with the locals and stakeholders to extinguish the fires.
As per the office, most of the fire cases in Parbat occurred due to human errors.
