A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been adjourned omitting the agendas set for Tuesday due to lack of quorum.
In today's meeting, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung had tabled a proposal seeking consideration over the 'Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts, 2080'.
The meeting could not take place due lack of quorum and parliamentary deliberations over the bill stalled, it was informed.
Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire had presented the proposal for decision. After the HoR members' concern over the quorum issue, the Speaker had directed the secretariat staffs to determine whether or not the quorum was met.
There were only 59 parliamentarians in the House while it requires 69 to maintain quorum for the decision.
Next meeting of the HoR will take place on September 4 (Monday).
The bill prepared to amend various 79 laws was tabled at the HoR on last May 9. ---
