An appeal has been filed in the Supreme Court against the decision to waive the fines of local level candidates.
Advocate Lokendra Oli has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, making the President's Office an opponent. Submission of this writ is fixed on 12 February.
It was decided to fine 24,638,880,000 rupees to 123,650 candidates who did not submit their expenses details in the local elections held on 13 May.
But on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, the President decided to waive the fine on February 17.
