A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court today with the demand that the Patan High Court's order to release Sandeep Lamichhane, accused of rape, on bail, and to keep the case in custody.
In the petition filed by the Deputy Attorney General on behalf of the Government of Nepal, it is mentioned that in the order of the Patan High Court on December 28, the defendant Lamichhane should be kept in custody and the case should be adjourned. Lamichhane was ordered by the Patan High Court to be placed on a cash bond of Rs 2 million or a bank surety with conditions.
In the petition, it is also suspected that Lamichhane may destroy the evidence.
