Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has asserted that his four-day official visit to India was fully successful, and it has added a new step to Nepal's economic prosperity and development process.

Talking to media persons here Friday, the agreements and memorandums of understanding were significant achievements, and they were made keeping in the center national interest. "Agreement on power trade is a breakthrough, which we were aspiring for a long. The agreement was made during the discussion with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on long-term power trade," PM Dahal shared.

He believed such an agreement would help Nepal receive massive investment in the energy sector. India's decision to purchase 10,000 MW of electricity in 10 years from Nepal is historic and a milestone.

He also mentioned the agreement on Lower Arun Hydro Power production as an achievement.

Agreement on power trade was made as per the demand of the private sector, which has created new confidence and a basis for further cooperation, according to him.

Moreover, he said India has agreed to purchase electricity from any of the projects. The historic agreement is made on exporting Nepal's electricity to Bangladesh too by using India's infrastructure. It can be taken as a tri-lateral agreement between Nepal, India, and Bangladesh.

Both sides agreed to move ahead as per the spirit of the Mahakali Treaty in the case of the Pancheshwor Multi-Purpose Project, PM Dahal claimed, adding that India had also agreed to solve border problems. Indian PM Narendra Modi took it positively, he shared.

PM Dahal also lauded the achievements such as the expansion of connectivity as a railway, the promotion of religious tourism, and electronic payment.

PM Dahal is scheduled to return home tomorrow evening.
