Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli held a meeting at latter's residence in Balkot on Friday afternoon.
They discussed the current political issues, including the election of the President.
Following the meeting, PM Dahal viewed the ruling parties were together, and efforts were on to forge a consensus on President. "The alliance of ruling parties is intact; we are in consensus; we move ahead in a united manner. There is no breakaway from the alliance," PM Dahal shared, adding that they were effortful to ensure how it would be made more effective.
Meanwhile, UML Chairman Oli's secretariat informed that Chairman Oli reminded PM Dahal that the consensus should be forged by enforcing the agreement as in the case of electing Prime Minister on December 25 and the alliance be continued for five years.
With the days approaching to elect President, PM Dahal and UML Chairman have intensified the meeting.
However, PM Dahal has been reiterating on election of President based on all parties' consensus while Chairman Oli has stressed on electing the President based on the agreement made on December 25.
