Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called for a meeting of the Council of Ministers today. According to the secretariat of the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting has been scheduled for 2 pm at Singhadurbar.
The Council of Ministers is likely to hold discussions on recommending the date to President Bidhya Devi Bhandari to summon the session of the House of Representatives (HoR) which has been asked to be reinstated by the Supreme Court.
The constitutional bench of the Supreme Court which was hearing the writ petitions filed against the dissolution of the House had issued an order on July 12 reinstating the House of Representatives. The court had also directed for the House to conduct its session within seven days.
At present there are four members in the Council of Ministers.
