A police constable on duty has been rescued by helicopter after falling ill.
Police Constable Ishwar Bahadur Thapa, who was deployed to guard the election meeting of the CPN (UML) at Pathi of Apihimal Gaonpalika-3 on Sunday, was rescued by a Nepal Army helicopter after suffering from severe abdominal pain.
Thapa is undergoing treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi, said Acting Chief of Police, District Police Office, Madhav Bishwakarma. After Thapa fell ill, a helicopter was ordered on the initiative of Federal MP Ganesh Singh Thagunna, Chief District Officer Dir Gharaj Upadhyay, and Acting Police Chief BK. UML politburo member and former minister Thagunna had reached Apihimal during the election campaign.
