The National Information Commission has decided to order public bodies including various political parties to implement the right to information.
The commission issued the order to implement the right to information by issuing a press release today.
According to the law, the public body should update and publish the activities of the body every three months, but since the political parties and various public bodies do not comply with the right to information, the order was issued, said the Chief Information Commissioner of the Commission, Mahendraman Gurung.
The Commission has emphasized that the role of the party should be strengthened in the implementation of the law made by the participation of the representatives of the political parties.
The commission has ordered to fulfill the obligation according to section (4) of the Right to Information Act, 2064, and to provide information within the specified time in a way that any Nepalese citizen comes to demand information in accordance with the Right to Information Act, 2064 in a way that is easy and simple to understand.
The commission has also mentioned that political parties will play an important and leading role in implementing the right to information.
