Shiva Prasad Poudel has been elected as the President of Non-Resident Nepali Association Japan. He was elected after defeating four other contestants from the 10th General Convention. Voting was held today after the attempt to reach a consensus for the new working committee 2021-23 in the general convention issued from July 25.
According to the Election Committee, out of a total of 9 thousand 394 voters, a total of 7 thousand 767 votes were cast. Newly elected president Poudel got 3,038 votes and his nearest rival Anita Gurung got 1,869 votes. Similarly, Navin Niure has been elected as the senior vice president. This time, 59 candidates had filed nominations for a total of 29 posts.
