A pregnant woman has been rescued by helicopter from Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-2 Lingam in the northern region of Sankhuwasabha. Chippayangjam Bhote, 28, of Bhotkhola-2 Lingam was rescued by helicopter after birth complications arose.
According to Chief District Officer Nur Hari Khatiwada, Bhote was rescued under the coordination of the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens under the Presidential Women's Upliftment Program. Bhote, who had come to Hatiya Health Post for delivery, was airlifted to Thapathali Maternity Hospital in Kathmandu for further treatment. Amrita Tamang, health co-coordinator of Bhotkhola village municipality, said that it was recommended to take the mother and child to Kathmandu as they needed immediate surgery.
