Preliminary findings reveal Tara plane crashed due to bad weather

Preliminary investigations have revealed that Tara Air's twin-engine plane crashed due to bad weather. Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Pradip Adhikari informed that the Tara Air plane crashed due to bad weather.

Informing the committee about the plane crash at today's meeting of the International Committee of the Parliament, the Director General Adhikari said that a preliminary study has shown that the plane, which had to make a right turn due to bad weather, made a left turn and crashed into the wall.

The Director General assured that a fact-finding commission would be formed to find out the truth through further investigation. The site is 8 nautical miles from Jomsom Airport. The plane had crashed into a hill called Sanusare in Thasang Gaonpalika-2 of Mustang and was found this morning. Twenty-two people, including 19 passengers and three crew members, were killed in the crash.

The plane, which took off from Pokhara for Jomsom at 9:55 am on Sunday, lost contact after 10:07 am. Five helicopters were sent out to search for the missing plane, but it ramained missing throughout a day-long search on Sunday, but the wreckage was found this morning.
