The closed training of the 19th Asian Games to be held in China has officially started from today. Member Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) Tankalal Ghising inaugurated the closed training of 23 different sports in which Nepal will participate. He said that the closed training would be used not only for the 19th Asian Games but also for other international competitions.
Member Secretary Ghising said that Rs. 50 million has been allocated for the first phase of training and the budget for the second phase has also been passed. He also handed over sports materials to the officials of 23 sports related sports associations.
Likewise, Athletics player Santoshi Shrestha said that the closed training has increased the enthusiasm of all the players. On behalf of the coaches, weightlifting coach Ram Poudel said that the closed training has added energy to the players and coaches.
The first phase of the training will run from June 7 to July 7. A total of 514 players including 230 men and 284 women will be in closed training from 23 games. From Nepal Taekwondo, Karate, Boxing, Athletics, Cycling, Women's Football, Golf, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Judo, Swimming, Triathlon, Wushu, Archery, Basketball, Kabaddi, Fencing, Handball, Table Tennis, Women's Volleyball, Men's Cricket, Shooting & Badminton Will participate.
