President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Thursday authenticated the ‘Appropriation Bill, 2078’.
According to the Office of the President, the bill submitted after passing from the Federal Parliament was authenticated as per Article 113 (2) of the Constitution.
Earlier, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota had sent the bill to the Office of the President for authentication. Earlier, when the bill was not passed, the country witnessed the ‘budget shutdown’ for some days.
The House of Representatives (HoR) had passed the ‘Appropriation Bill’ on September 20 while the National Assembly had passed the bill today itself. Then, the National Assembly had sent the bill to the HoR after its approval.
With the authentication of the bill, the government now can spend the budget from the government treasury.
