Prohibitory order enforced in 41 out of 77 districts

29 districts had imposed order as of Saturday

The Chief District Officers (CDOs) of 41 districts have enforced prohibitory order in their respective districts to stem the spread of COVID-19.

The CDOs exercised the authority vested by the federal government to contain the second wave of the pandemic that is spreading rapidly across the country lately.

As of Saturday, 29 districts had imposed prohibitory order which has been extended to 41 as of Monday morning. Prohibitory order will be imposed in some districts such as Ramechhap, Taplejung and Arghakhanchi from midnight while few others such as Nuwakot, Dhanusa and Dailkeh will see the enforcement from coming Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Currently, Ramechap, Taplejung, Syangja, Kalikot, Makawanpur, Bajura, Gorkha, Kavrepalanchowk, Morang, Darchula and Baglung districts have enforced partial prohibitory order.

The districts where prohibitory order has been fully enforced are Banke, Surkhet, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kaski, Kailali and Parsa.

Similarly, Dang, Kanchanpur, Palpa, Chitwan, Rupandehi, Baglung, Bardia, Salyan, Sunsari, Darchula, Jajarkot, Rukum Paschim, Dadheldhura, Jhapa, Morang have also enforced prohibitory order for some days.

CDOs of Gulmi, Pyuthan, Kavrepalanchowk, Gorkha, Bajura, Udayapur, Makawanpur, Bajhang, Kalikot, Syangja, Ramechhap, Taplejung and Baitadi districts have put in place prohibitory order in an effort to control the coronavirus infection
