Rawatbada village in Jumla’s Tatopani Rural Municipality-6, has been sealed for one week. The village has been sealed as cases of coronavirus infections have been detected in the area. According to Nawaraj Neupne, Chairperson of the Rural Municipality, the village has been sealed as per a decision taken by the local COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre.
Neupane informed that outsiders will not be allowed to enter the village during the period the village is sealed. Movement of people between Rawatbada and Khadkabada, an adjoining village too has been barred. He also mentioned that since the number of people being infected with coronavirus has been rising the rural municipality will be increasing the capacity of the isolation centre too.
During an antigen test conducted on Tuesday, nine persons were detected to have been infected with the contagion. The infected persons have been kept in the isolation centre of the village under the supervision of a doctor, Neupane mentioned. Meanwhile, swab collection of 101 villagers of 55 families has been done for the PCR test. The results of the test are yet to arrive.
