Executive Chairperson of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Dharmendra Jha, has said RSS would be established as the news medium of the nation and the people.
Addressing the inaugural session of the newly constructed building of RSS at Bhadrakali, Chair Jha opined that RSS would be developed as a news agency of the 21st century able to competing in international level.
He shared, "RSS will be the conveyor of news of the nation and the people. We will try to follow inclusiveness, pluralism and press freedom."
Chair Jha further said that the RSS service would be made modernized and timely by fully utilizing the new modern building.
"Laying of the foundation stone and the inauguration of RSS building by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba illustrates Prime Minister Deuba's seriousness towards the press freedom, freedom of expression and its strengthening. It also shows that Prime Minister Deuba is very concerned for the development and promotion of the press," mentioned Chair Jha.
On the occasion, he extended gratitude towards the Prime Minister, Minister for Communications and Information Technology, ministry team, chief election commissioner and stakeholders for their interest and support for the construction of RSS building.
Similarly, RSS General Manager Siddha Raj Rai said RSS has stood itself in the frontline to ensure citizens the right to information, to join hands in social transformation and to disseminate authentic information.
Saying the RSS has been making possible initiatives to improve quality of service delivery by changing itself with the time in the digital era, he mentioned that RSS has established its separate identity by disseminating and publicizing information in national and international level on the service delivery of the state and government's activities as per the 'News and Information, People's Right' spirit.
GM Rai further said that RSS has also launched visual service diversifying its services by facing many vicissitudes.
Minister of State at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Umesh Shrestha, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, Chairperson of National Women Commission Kamala Parajuli, Secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Dr Baikuntha Aryal, Chairperson of Press Council Nepal, Bal Krishna Basnet, Chairperosn of Federation of Nepali Journalists Bipul Pokhrel, former chairpersons and general managers of RSS, chief and representatives of different media were present on the occasion.
RSS Executive Chief Jha received the key of the new building handed over to project implementation unit on the behalf of the building construction company.
On the occasion, PM Deuba presented letter of appreciation to Chief of Siddhababa Construction Pvt Ltd.
