Sandeep Lamichhane, the suspended captain of the national cricket team, has been released from prison. District Court Kathmandu Information Officer Deepak Dahal informed that Sandeep has been released from prison.
The Patan High Court on Thursday ordered the release of the suspended captain Sandeep, who was accused of rape, after paying a bond of 2 million.
Information Officer Dahal informed that according to the same order, Sandeep was released from prison after paying a bond of 2 million this afternoon. Sandeep was taken from the Central Jail to the District Court in Kathmandu to be released from prison.
Yesterday, a bench of Patan High Court Judges Ramesh Dhakal and Dhruvraj Nand ordered the release of Sandeep on bail. Sandeep, who has been released from prison, will now have to take permission from the District Police Office Kathmandu to go outside the Kathmandu Valley.
It has been mentioned that the victim's family should not be contacted, intimidated or threatened by any means.
The case against cricketer Sandeep was heard in the district court of Kathmandu today. His lawyers have been insisting that the girl is not a minor. A case was filed against Sandeep in the Kathmandu District Court on the charge of raping a minor girl.
In the case registered by the public prosecutor's office, it was demanded that Lamichhane should be sentenced to 10 to 12 years in prison. Sandeep denied the rape allegations against him and stated that he was innocent. He was arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport.
