Schools in Baitadi closed till mid-February

Schools in Baitadi will be closed till mid-February. Stating that the risk of corona infection is still high, the district administration office has asked to keep the school closed till mid-February.

Information Officer at the District Administration Office, Khagendra Bharati, informed that the congestion has been stopped till mid-February as there is a risk of coronavirus in the district as per the decision of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center. In addition, the district administration office has requested to implement the decisions taken for the prevention and control of covid infection.

The administration has written a letter to the government bodies and local level requesting them to implement the recommendations of the Covid Crisis Management Coordination Center and the decisions directed by the federal government. The administration has requested for the implementation of the secretary level decision of the Home Ministry on January 31. According to the decision, schools and colleges will not be able to operate in physical presence till mid-February.

Similarly, it has been mentioned that all the experimental examinations of schools, colleges, manpower recruitment, foreign language and medical education conducted for foreign employment should be conducted following the public health standards.

The administration has also urged to conduct the vaccination program as a district-wide campaign and to make the vaccination campaign in schools effective. Students in the age group of 12 to 17 years are being given second dose of moderna vaccine. At least 19 people have been killed so far in the Baitadi district bordering India.
