A person has died in a road accident at Deurali of Beas Municipality-12 this evening.
The deceased has been identified as Ishwar Chhetri, a 21-year-old scooter driver of Bandipur-1 of the district. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Damauli Hospital.
The incident took place when a tipper heading towards Dumre from Damauli hit a scooter heading in the opposite direction. The tipper driver has been taken under police custody and further investigation is underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Khadka. Locals have blocked the Prithvi Highway in protest after the incident.
