Palungtar Municipality of Gorkha district has decided to close all schools in the municipality due to excessive heat.
The Municipality decided to close 53 schools for three days starting from Sunday after students started feeling unconformable following the rising temperature, said Mayor Bibas Chintan.
He mentioned, "The schools were closed as children's health might be affected by scorching heat in the district." Mayor Chintan further said the vacation could be extended if the mercury does not fall. The temperature is recorded at 40 degree Celsius in the Palungtar area in recent periods.
