Schools have to finish all tasks related to the internal assessment of the students who have registered for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) and submit the details to the District Coordination Committee Office by July 4.
Chandra Mani Paudel, Chairman of National Examinations Board, informed that the board had endorsed the guidelines for the internal assessment of students who have registered for the SEE and that schools have been asked to submit the results of the internal assessment by July 4.
The District Coordination Committee Office (DCCO) will then forward the internal assessment of the students made by the respective schools and also the records of the students to the National Examinations Board by July 15. After the examinations board receives the details from the DCCO the results will be published within 15 days and the board will also do the necessary work to distribute the mark sheets.
Unless there are any technical issues, the National Examinations Board will publish the SEE results by July 30 and expects classes for +2 to start from August 17.
The board has made the teachers of the major subjects responsible for the internal assessment this year. A five-member committee comprising of the principal, one senior teacher and teachers who teach English, Science and Mathematics will be formed for respective schools and the National Examinations Board will publish the results with the signatures of all five members of the committee.
Last year, only the principal was responsible for the internal assessment of the students. However, the board decided to form a five-member committee this year because last year there were complaints that many principals gave marks as per their will.
The board has also made it compulsory for schools to provide valid reasons if any student has been highly graded during the internal assessment. If the board is not satisfied with the reasons provided by the concerned school then the board has the right to send back the internal assessment of the respective student for reassessment.
