Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said self-reliant economy along with social justice and respect is essential for socialist system and development.
Addressing the Syangja-Kathmandu Liaison Forum's 13th anniversary here Sunday, Chairman Nepal viewed the country could be developed and made prosperous by fostering governance as per people's aspiration. Forum is Nepal's party affiliated organization.
There was no alternative to socialism in order to mainstream backward people and communities with the adoption of inclusive and proportional representation, Nepal argued.
Politburo member of the party Dilu Pant underscored the need to curb corruption and maintain good governance.
The Liaison Forum elected a 13-member working committee under the leadership of Rajendra Chhetri. The Vice Chairs of the Forum are Binita Dhakal and Sagar Pangeni, while Secretary Krishna Kumar BK, Joint Secretary Bibek Bhattarai, and Treasurer Budhhiman Shrestha.
