Three persons from Gurvakot of Surkhet district who were accused of sexually harassing a Raute girl have been slapped with seven years' imprisonment. A bench of district judge Dr. Rajendra Kumar Acharya delivered the verdict that Chauman Bahadur Gharti and Bhupendra Budhamagar would be behind the bar for seven years and fined Rs 200 thousand each. Both of them are from Gurvakot Municipality-9 of Surkhet.
Similarly, another accomplice- the hotel entrepreneur- has been handed down three and half years' imprisonment and a fine of Rs 100 thousand, according to an information officer at court, Ujjwal Dev Rawal.
Moreover, those to serve seven years' term in jail have to contribute Rs 8,000 to the victims' relief fund and hotel entrepreneurs Rs 4,000.
A Raute girl was sexually assaulted in a hotel in the night at Botechaur on June 4, 2021. The suspected ones were held by the police two days after a video was leaked of sexual assault on a Raute girl.
During the incident, Raute, the nomadic community, was on the bank of the Bheri River at Gurvakot Municipality-11.
