The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has appointed Swatantra Pratap Shah, a young entrepreneur from Achham Kalimati in the far west, as its tourism ambassador to Australia.
A ministerial decision of the Government of Nepal has appointed him as Tourism Envoy for two years. The ministry today handed over a letter of appointment to him as tourism envoy.
Joint Secretary of the Ministry Hom Prasad Luintel handed over the letter of appointment to Shah as Tourism Envoy. It is said that Shah will work for the promotion of tourism in collaboration with the concerned bodies including the Nepali embassy.
Shah, who is involved in teaching and hotel business, is also the president of the International Federation of Nepali Young Entrepreneurs. He is also the Vice President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association of Australia.
Shah, who is also interested in the arts, is expected to play an important role in the promotion of tourism in Nepal, the ministry said.
