Police arrested a man on charge of killing his father from Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-2 in Khotang district on Sunday morning.
The name of the deceased has been revealed as Chandra Kumar Rai (72), while the accused has been identified as Subarna Rai (28).
Subarna had attacked his father with a khukuri and fled from the scene of the crime. Acting on a tip-off, the Khotang-based District Police Office (DPO) nabbed him.
Further investigation into the case is underway, said DPO, Khotang.
