Construction of a 25-foot-tall statue of Lord Shiva in the Pashupati Temple premises in Shuklaphanta Municipality-7 has reached its final stage. The statue is being constructed to promote religious tourism in the region.
The construction work of the statue started at the initiative of Pashupati Sewa Samaj Samiti. Chair of the committee Kalusingh Thagunna said that the construction of the statue is underway with the help of donors. "We have spent Rs. 393,000 for the construction of the statue," said Thagunna. "The donors have assured assistance for more funds."
The construction work, which started in mid-August, is nearing completion. "Assistance has not been received from any government or non-government body," he said. Even then, the construction of the statue has moved forward. ”
According to the local devotees, the areas covered with religious significance for years will be publicized along with the construction of the statue. Local resident Lal Singh Mahara said, "It will help in the promotion of Sundevi Lake, ancient Baijnath Temple, Mudka Dham, Kalapani Bhagwati and other areas around this region
