Families of two people who were killed in a landslide on July 8 at the Rishing rural municipality in Tanahu have been provided with monetary assistance from the government level.
Families of Devisara Thapa, 50, of Ward no 7 and Khum Bahadur Thapa, 42, of Ward no 8 were given Rs 200 thousand each from the Federal Government and Rs 50 thousand each from the Province Government.
Gandaki Province Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali handed the amount to the bereaved families. He also visited the areas hit by landslides and floods in the rural municipality.
On the occasion, he promised to assist Rs 400 thousand each to the affected families to rebuild their houses. Many houses in the rural municipality have been damaged by the incidences of natural disasters. The Province Government has also allocated Rs 2.5 million to restore the damaged roadways in the village.
