Technical team and elephants deployed for Tiger control

Various government agencies have joined hands to control the tigers in the Raptisonari of Banke after the tigers started killing more people daily.

Ganesh Khadka, Assistant Forest Officer, Division Forest Office, Banke, informed that the necessary process has been taken forward by coordinating with various agencies to control and manage the tiger terror.

He said that the tiger control process has been taken forward in coordination with the Federal Ministry of Forest and Environment, Ministry of Forest, Environment and Land Conservation of Lumbini Province, Banke National Park, and National Nature Conservation Fund.

Assistant Forest Officer Khadka said that a technical team of the National Nature Conservation Fund will arrive in Nepalgunj on Sunday as they have been requested to control the terror of tigers.

According to him, the team will go to Raptisonari as soon as it reaches Nepalgunj and start the necessary work for tiger control from Sunday.

The Forest Division Office, Banke, has been requesting the locals not to enter the forest and not to leave their houses unnecessarily by broadcasting information through miking and FM radio at the local level.

Meanwhile, Banke National Park has also deployed additional elephants and security personnel to chase away tigers in Raptisonari. Earlier, the park had sent two elephants.

Locals of Rapti are terrified after a tiger killed two women in Raptisonari in two days. Chandani Tharu, 29, of Raptisonari 6, Fatehpur, was killed by a tiger on Saturday. Earlier, 53-year-old Leela Bista of Raptisonari 4 was killed in a tiger attack. They were killed by a tiger while going to cut firewood in the forest.

In addition, four people have been killed by tigers in Banke in a period of three months. The tigers are attacking the locals and the domestic animals that have gone to the forest for various activities every day.
