The entry permit period of migrant workers including Nepalis working in South Korea through EPS will be extended for one more year. Although the process of bringing in migrant workers to Korea has resumed due to the Corona epidemic, the entry permit of the workers is being extended for one more year due to various reasons.

The South Korean government has extended the entry permit of all migrant workers, including Nepalis, from April 13 to the end of December 2022. As per the decision, South Korea will get one more year of entry permit through the EPS process as the entry permit is about to expire.

According to the EPS rules, the first term is three years. After the expiration of the three-year period, the company and the workers can stay for four years and 10 months, including one more year and 10 months. You must return to your home country after completing your first term. Workers who come to Korea for a second term as re-committed workers will have the same tenure as the first term.

In the current case, the three-year period from April 13 to the end of December, or the period of four years and 10 months, is about to expire, regardless of the first or second term. Immigration itself will extend the one-year stay for those whose term is approaching. For after a few days you can get information about your extended period from the Hikoria website or your EPS ID.

The South Korean government had earlier extended the visa period from April to December 2021 and from January 12 to April 12, 2022, last year. It has been decided to give 50 more days of entry permit from April to the end of the period with an extension of one year.

The decision extends the one-year term of 77,094 migrant workers in South Korea. Similarly, in the case of those who are about to complete even after adding one year, there are five thousand 644 people who will get additional 50 days.

Those who get one more year of entry permit due to Corona will be able to change their place of work once if they are not satisfied with the company like the previous rule. There is a provision that the company owner's permission is required to change the workplace three times during the three-year term and twice in the next one year and 10 months period. MTUK Chairman Uday Rai said.

This decision has become an opportunity for those who are still living and working in Korea to earn money, while those who are waiting to go to Korea after completing the entire process in Nepal and other countries, it is estimated that the Korean process will be extended.
