A youth was arrested on charge of stealing gold and cash from Lamahi Municipality in Dang district on Sunday morning. There were three people involved in the loot but the other two are absconding.
The arrested has been identified as Kiran Budha (20), a local resident of the same municipality in Kamanpur in the district. He allegedly stole gold, Rs 98,000, and two sets of mobile phones from four people including one of a tipper driver with vehicle registration number RA 1 KHA 2419.
Budha along with his accomplices allegedly looted the driver by threatening him with weapons when the driver was on his way to Samrat Cement Company. Acting on a tip-off, joint security personnel from Lamahi-based Ward Police Office and Bangai-based Temporary Police Post nabbed Budha.
The police are looking for the other two absconding accused and further investigation into the matter is underway, informed the police.
