A tiger has devoured three Gharial crocodiles at the Chitwan National Park (CNP)'s crocodile breeding centre at Kasara.
This is the first incident of its kind. An injured tiger after a fight with another one, entered the breeding centre and killed the crocodiles, CNP Information Officer Ganesh Prasad Tiwari said.
According to him, the injured tiger entered the breeding centre by crossing over the shorter portion of the wall, from where people used to enter, after it was unable to hunt. Tiwari shared that the tiger, killed crocodiles of around 12 years of age during the morning hour. The tiger is also about 12 years old, male tiger.
The tiger has been darted and taken under control, and then sent to Banke, he said.
