Cages made to keep the man-eating tigers in the Chitwan National Park are full. There are five tigers in the cages, three at the park's headquarters in Kasara and two at Sauraha.

According to Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, information officer of the park, tigers rescued after attacking people from Meghauli and Kumroz are kept in Sauraha. Kasara brought a tiger from Banke two years ago.

Similarly, two tigers were brought from Devanagar and Madi. Tiwari informed that those tigers are between 8 and 15 years old. This year, one person was rescued after being attacked by a tiger in Madi. Other tigers were brought in the previous year.

In the current financial year, wild elephants attacked two people and a rhinoceros killed one person. There are no cages left to keep more tigers in the park. An old cage in Kasara is being repaired. If a tiger is added to the cage, alternatives have to be found.

Tiwari said that after an elephant killed a person in Meghauli in West Chitwan, the search operation is continuing on the assumption that there is an injured tiger in the same area. With the increase in the number of tigers in the park, the number of tigers in trouble has also increased.

According to the calculation of 2022, the number of adult tigers in Chitwan National Park is 128. The number of tigers in Parsa National Park is 41. The number of tigers in the country is 355.

According to him, in a survey conducted in 2022, it was found that the density of food was 99.6 per square kilometer in the park. He says that the density of food has increased compared to the past.

The entire deer species is the tiger's food. Other animals like hog deer, muntjacs are hunted by tigers.Tiwari says that tigers will even eat boars if they do not find their usual preys. After the increase in injured and cannibalistic wild animals, preparations have been made to build an orderly place in Varandabhar forest in Devanagar of the park.

Plans to develop it as an open zoo and keep injured and cannibalistic animals like tigers, rhinos, and elephants there. If the general public buys a ticket and observes, the wildlife can be reared with the income, so the work has been progressed accordingly.

Currently, an office building has been built at that place. Tiwari said that there is a plan to build open cages gradually. The park is currently feeding each caged tiger five kilos of meat daily.
