The Home and Small Industries Office in Jhapa has started training for the production of cloth bags from yesterday with the objective of replacing plastic bags. The training has been started with 40 youths including 20 from Mechinagar Municipality-12 and 20 from Arjundhara Municipality-11. Chief of the Home and Small Industries Office, Jayanarayan Adhikari, said that the program was implemented with a budget of Rs. 2 million.
He said that training has been organized for the production of cloth bags in the district as plastic bags would spread pollution in the environment and also help in making the youth entrepreneurs. He said that the office would provide the necessary materials to the participants in this one-month training. "We will not leave them alone by training them," he said.
