Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Prakash Jwala instructed the concerned authorities to complete the construction of Triyuga Bridge in Udayapur district within a year.

The construction of the bridge over Triyuga River linking Shibai in Chaudhandigadi and Belhi has been in limbo for 11 years. Minister Jwala directed the officials in the Division of Bridge under the Department of Road and contractor company for the timely construction of the bridge.

The bridge had collapsed soon after it was built and handed over by the construction company. It was left in lurch for two years.

The parliamentarian elected from Udayapur and people representatives visited Minister Jwala on Sunday to draw his attention towards timely construction of the bridge.

Minister Jwala summoned the construction company and inquired about the construction process and the delay. He assured the visiting team of parliamentarians that the bridge would be built within a year in collective efforts of the Ministry, people's representatives and the construction company.

According to him, fraudulent construction companies were taken action.

Acting Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Arjun Thapa, shared that a total of 4,500 bridges were being built across the country at present. Thapa assured of timely construction of those bridges by addressing the issues relating to the erring construction companies.

Mahalaxmi Lokpriya Construction Company was awarded contract to build the Triyuga Bridge in 2010. The construction works ought to be completed within three years but much to the dismay, it was not completed even in 11 years.
