A bus heading to Biratnagar from Tulsipur Dang met with an accident on the East-West Highway at Dhanushadham Municipality-6 in Dhanusha and 12 passengers were injured.
According to the Area Police Office, Dhalkewar Subedi, the accident took place when the bus (Na 6 Kha 7102) fell off the road at around 8 am on Wednesday. It is said that the bus caught on fire when it overturned.
Twelve passengers have been injured. The injured includes seven women, four men and a child, said Subedi. Of the injured, 10 are undergoing treatment at a private health treatment center in Pushpawalpur while two others are undergoing treatment at Model Hospital in Lalgarh while the rest of the passengers are safe.
The fire was brought under control by the Armed Police Force of Dhalkewar-based Riot Control Battalion and Area Police Office Dhalkewar District Police with fire extinguishers. Most of the passengers' belongings were also destroyed in the fire.
