Two APF personnel assaulted for attempt to control illegal mining in Parsa

Two personnel of Armed Police Force (APF) were injured as they were trying to intervene the illegal sand mining from the Oriya River in Bisanpur of Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality-1 in Parsa district.

The injured in the recent incident are Ayush Ray Yadav and Naresh Yadav who have been receiving treatment at  Birgunj-based Narayani Hospital.

According to Hospital's emergency ward chief Dr Uday Narayan Singh, Ayush Ray had sustained injuries to his left ear while Naresh got his hand fractured and injured to his leg. Both are said to be out of life-threatening condition.

They were assaulted as they tried to take under control three tractors with Indian registration number laden with sand. The locals of Gadiyani Bhangaha folks attacked a joint security team deployed from the Armed Police Force Border Outpost based in Mahadevpatti and Pidariguthi with wooden clubs, shovels and stones as the confiscated vehicles got trapped in the river. The mob also took away the vehicles, said APF Nepal Border Outpost Pidariguthi's Inspector Basant GC.

The situation has returned to normalcy, said APF Superintendent of Police Rajendra Khadka.
