Police arrested two persons with a muzzleloader gun from Patan Municipality in Baitadi district on Thursday afternoon.
The arrested have been identified as Narad Prasad Bhattarai (36) and Laxman Bhattarai (38), both local residents of Sakar in the municipality.
They were allegedly hunting wild animals in Sakar jungle. Acting on a tip-off, Patan-based Area Police Office nabbed them and also seized the gun from their possession.
Similarly, police on Thursday afternoon recovered two muzzleloader guns, 44 bullets, and 100 grams of gun powder, among others, from Nirajan Community Forest in Kailali district.
Security personnel deployed from the Masuriya-based Area Police Office found the arms and ammunition in a hole carved into a tree while clearing the jungle.
Further investigation into the cases is underway, informed the police.
