Police arrested two persons along with banned pharmaceutical drugs in Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-5 in Sunsari district.
The arrested have been identified as Udim Miya (22) of Koshi Rural Municipality-5 and Narayan Prasad Shiwakoti (57) of Inaruwa Municipality-3. They were arrested in possession of 1,000 tablets of nitrosun. Police also seized cash Rs 40,500 and two sets of mobile phone from their possession.
Itahari-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed them while they were purchasing the pharmaceuticals drugs on Sunday afternoon.
Likewise, police arrested a youth in possession of 800 grams of marijuana in Belaka Municipality-5 of Udayapur district on Sunday evening.
The arrested has been identified as Santosh Tamang (22) of Khairwoni in the municipality.
He was involved in peddling the marijuana from his home. Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of security personnel deployed from Rampurthoksila-based Area Police Office and Lalbazar-based Police Office raided the residence of Tamang and seized the illegal drug.
Moreover, two youths were apprehended with 5.5gm of heroin from Shiwastakshi Municipality-6 in Jhapa district.
The arrested have been identified as Riyaz Ansari (23) and Sanjaya Pradhan (21) of the same municipality. The police also recovered Rs 1,300 and seized four mobile phones from them.
The duo was riding a motorcycle with vehicle registration number KO 7 PA 4906. A joint team of security personnel deployed from Jhiljhile-based Area Police Office and Shivgunj-based Area Police Office nabbed them with the substance during a routine vehicle check on Sunday night.
Further investigation into the cases is underway, informed the police.
