CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said the International Workers' Day is being observed in the country as the day which has established the rights of workers.
The former Prime Minister in a message of best wishes today claimed that the UML-led government did ensure safe and dignified life of workers and create a climate for industrial revolution by addressing concerns of workers.
It ensured social security of the working group and a flexible labour market for employers through the new labour act, he maintained.
"A memorandum of understanding was reached between industrialists and workers on the initiatives of the government led by the UML. Through this MoU, there was the highest 39 percent increment in the minimum remunerations to workers," he said.
