The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) Khotang is going to monitor the development plans implemented in the district from the budget allocated by the local, state, and federal governments.
The third plenary meeting of the Unified Socialists has decided to monitor the development plans. The party's district in charge Bobby Chamling informed that the lower level committee has been instructed to collect the details and make them available. "The town or village working committee has been asked to submit the details of the monitoring to the district executive committee by January 29," he said.
During the monitoring, details of budget numbers, names of consumer committee officials and contractor companies, amount of work completed, number of beneficiary households, name of plan donors or related bodies will be collected. It has been decided to select the necessary immediate and long-term plans in each locality or settlement from the meeting of the tole committee and submit them to the ward committee.
The UCPN (Maoist) has stated that the work can be carried out in coordination with the concerned bodies in case of any problem or plan that may arise in the settlements. According to Chamling, the district in charge of the Unified Socialists, the party's monitoring work is expected to be effective in the development plan of the district.
Meanwhile, the Unified Socialists have decided to set up offices in the remaining ten local levels of the district, Khotehang, Sakela, and Rawabensi, along with the municipal committee. So far, ward in-charges and coordinators have been appointed in Barahpokhari, Jantedhunga, Diprung Chuichumma, Sakela, Aiselukharka, Kepilasgadhi village municipality, Halesi Tuvachung municipality, and Diktel Rupakot Mazhuwagadi municipality.
Ward party committees have been formed in 37 out of 79 wards of the district which has two municipalities and eight villages. Rai said that preparations have been made to form and reorganize people's organizations from ward to district by January 21.
