Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has wished happiness, peace, prosperity, good health, longevity and progressive changes to all the Christian Nepali brothers and sisters living at home and abroad.
Giving best wishes on the occasion of Christmas, the great festival of Christians, he hoped that this holy festival would establish mutual harmony, social unity and brotherhood among all Nepalis.
Stating that the secular nation of Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious, multi-cultural and geographically diverse country, he recalled that religious and cultural festivals have been making significant contribution to further strengthen national unity while maintaining social unity, harmony and religious tolerance.
Expressing concern over the recent distortions in the religious and cultural festivals, he requested to stop the distortions and celebrate the festivals at the lowest possible cost.
Stating that experts are warning that the global epidemic of COVID-19 could spread further in Nepal as well, the Vice President urged the people to heed the advice of the experts and celebrate Christmas only by following the health standards.
